The Club Championship was played off scratch over two days. With 5 or 6 players all with a realistic chance of winning it was always going to be a close run competition. The first round saw Douglas Howes shot 73 to lead by one stroke from Scott Hudson and Lee Wilson on 74. Steve Bristow was a surprise in 4th place after scoring a very good 79 leaving Greg Griffiths and John Barrett tied for 5th on 80.
The second round was played in perfect conditions with some tough pin positions put out by the green keepers. The best score on the day was by Lee Wilson who shot his second 74 in two days, Lee finished with a good birdie leaving him on +8 for the two rounds. Douglas Howes made par up the last to shoot 75 also leaving him on +8 for the two rounds. Scott Hudson, Steve Bristow and the other players feel away leaving Douglas Howes and Lee Wilson to play in a play-off for the title.
The 4-hole play-off was held over the first 4 holes. DH made birdie up the first whilst LW made a 3 putt bogey, DH was two up after one hole. Both player teed off and were in good positions on the 2nd but a DH shank cost him as he went on to make 6 (back to +1), LW hit a SW on the green and made a two putt to also be +1 through 2 holes. LW drove into the fairway bunker on 3 and got it to the front edge in two whilst DH hit a great drive and an average second to 35 feet. LW made a great 2 putt to stay at +1 whilst DH took 3 putts to go +2. Lee then hit a good drive down 4, Doug hit it way right into the long rough and could only hack out sideways. Both players hit the green and Lee 2 putted to win the play-off (+1).

The Presidents Cup was played over the same two days. Many players were in with a good chance. The first round leader was Ben Lawrence who score net 64 (87 gross). The second day was a tough day with only a couple of players breaking par, Ben played consistant golf again and scored a net 68 (91 gross).
