MEN'S JUBILEE CUP TEAM v ROCHFORD GC

The Jubilee Cup side made up of twelve players set out against Rochford GC on Saturday 8th May.  The Rivenhall side playing at home were ready for a close game and this proved to be the case!!

The six singles matches went out first and although these matches were all closely contested Rivenhall ended 4 -2 down, with Darren Rogers and Nick Godwin being the two winners for Rivenhall.  The three pairs matches followed with Vernon and Chris out first.  Despite going two holes behind early on in the match they turned it round for a convincing win.  John V and Alan S went out second and were in great form, they ran away with an impressive 5 & 4 win to secure another point.  The match was now 4 points to Rivenhall and 4 points to Rochford with only one game left out on the course.  The last match was a close game with our Rivenhall pairing of Northy and Soapy needing a win to get an overall victory.  The rest of the team were all in the clubhouse keeping out of the rain and hoping that our boys would bring in the last point.  The score filtered through to the team and it was good news Rivenhall had won the last 3 matches to win 5 matches to Rochfords 4 wins.  This is the 2nd win in the last 3 outings for the men's teams, things are looking up for the future and the team seems more positive.  Well done!! good luck in the future.
